AI content in social media — when to label?
On Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and paid ads: the notice must be recognizable on the content. Caption or description alone is usually insufficient.
Usually label
Photorealistic AI post image
Label on or directly above the image. Not only in caption.
Usually not required
Illustration / comic
Obviously artificial. No realism impression.
Usually label
Video ad with AI voice
Notice at video start and repeat regularly.
Influencer content with AI people or synthetic scenes can be misunderstood as real. Labeling on the medium itself matters.
Pure promo and sale posts without public-interest information character are often fine.
Conversational ads and AI bots in chats must be recognizable as AI at the start.
